DTM Czech Republic

You've uploaded the data to DTM. What's next for updating your networks?

Any changes to the networks must be surveyed by a surveyor and incorporated into the region’s DTM. We can help you update and upload the data.

Most municipalities and technical infrastructure administrators have already uploaded their data to the Regional Digital Technical Map. Let’s assume that your networks are currently correctly represented in the DTM. If they are not yet, or not all of them, it makes sense to complete this as soon as possible.

We’ll be happy to help you prepare and upload your data. But the process doesn’t end with the upload. DTM is a dynamic source of information and must reflect the actual state of the infrastructure in the field.

When Should the DTM Be Updated?

An update is required whenever your technical network changes or expands in any way. Typically, this includes the following situations:

  • a new section of the sewer system will be added or the water main will be extended,
  • will streetlights be installed or will power lines be rerouted,
  • run another computer network cable to an external building,
  • You will build or renovate a local road.

For municipalities, this means monitoring changes to municipal property; for network operators, it means monitoring every construction project, renovation, or relocation involving their facilities.

Who will lead the change?

In order for the DTM update to take place, new or modified networks must be surveyed by a surveyor or a licensed land surveyor (AZI). The survey is conducted during construction, while the lines are still accessible, and the surveyor prepares and verifies the resulting documentation.

HRDLIČKA has branches in nearly every region, so there is a very good chance that there is a surveyor near you who can perform the survey.

A Step-by-Step Guide to the Update Process

The division of labor is simple:

  1. A construction company is making changes to the network.
  2. During construction, the surveyor will survey any changes made and prepare and certify the documentation for them.
  3. Please send us the documentation. We will convert it to the JVF DTM exchange format and incorporate it into the region’s Digital Technical Map.
  4. We will provide you with a report containing the record ID, which you will need for the final building inspection.

In practice, the identifier is crucial. Without it, you cannot obtain a final building inspection certificate. For more details, see the articles “How to Obtain a Record Identifier in DTM” and “Final Building Inspection Without Complications.”

Municipalities with a DTM Editorial Agreement are guaranteed updates

Municipalities that have entered into a DTM Editorial Agreement with us are assured that future changes to their networks will be incorporated into the regional DTM. Simply send us the surveying documentation for the change, and we’ll take care of the rest, including the transfer to the JVF DTM and the issuance of a report with an identifier.

We offer the same service to network administrators. We’ll incorporate your changes into the DTM, allowing you to focus on infrastructure operations and development. We describe how you can further manage and share your data in the DTM in the article “The Digital Technical Map of the Czech Republic and the Geoportal Application.”
